
Core Breach
In this intense 2D action tower defense game, you command a lone ship tasked with protecting a crucial power core from relentless enemy waves. Strategically build and upgrade turrets directly on the core while deploying satellite shields to fend off three unique enemy types—swift scouts, heavily armored tanks, and destructive meteors.
Core Breach is my submission for the Kenney Game Jam 2025, and also my first ever game jam project. I wanted to create something fun, fast-paced, and focused on the theme of power. As you eliminate enemies rapidly, your power meter fills, enabling a powerful overload blast that unleashes massive area damage and can turn the battle in your favor. You can also choose to heal by sitting still in the center of the core—but while healing, you cannot shoot, leaving you vulnerable. Manage your resources carefully, defend the core’s health, and time your overload blasts to survive increasingly difficult waves.
With fast-paced combat, strategic turret placement, and a dynamic energy system, Core Breach brings the theme of “power” to life by putting you in control of both defense and devastating offensive bursts. Will you master the core’s power and hold the line?
